Curriculum
Our Curriculum:
Our curriculum is a blend of the local curriculum and international curriculum. The reason behind this is majorly to prepare our students to compete both locally and internationally in their academic pursuits. We encourage our students to practice and use English to promote fluency and comprehension. We prepare our students for admission in national and international universities.
Testing, Grading and Reporting Students’ Progress
- Homework:
Teachers give homework 2-3 times a week for each subject. To avoid unnecessary burdens, the school regulates home works through homework schedules.
- Tests and Exams
- KG, Primary and Middle School
We use successive assessment for all levels of KG and primary. Hence, all levels of KG and primary students take weekly quizzes. They take English, Science, Social and Mathematics one week and the rest of the subjects the following week alternatively.
All KG, Primary and middle school students take final quarterly exams four times a year.
- High School
All Grade 9-12 students take mid- term and final exams quarterly.
Four model exams are administered to students who will take national exams. Model exams cover topics from the previous grade levels.
- Progress Report
Report cards are issued four times in the year after each final quarter exam.
- Parent/Teacher Conference
Parent/Teacher conferences are conducted at the end of each quarter. These discussions are vital in that each student’s strengths and weakness in different traits are discussed in depth. These conferences are important avenues for communication and collaboration between parents and teachers, and are considered part of Hill Side School system of reporting students’ progress to parents.
